The Language Institute Chiang Mai proudly brought eight students to Korea to participate in the “Dreaming of Another Asia” program. Held in Gwangju, South Korea, from October 4 to October 11, 2024, the event gathered young artists from Korea, Thailand, Mongolia, Indonesia, China, and Taiwan for a week of cultural exchange, public art projects, creative workshops, and tours of Gwangju.
The program focused on cultural regeneration, showing how art can breathe new life into communities. Through festivals, exhibitions, and networking events, participants shared ideas, built friendships, and explored ways to collaborate creatively.
Participants also explored how creativity can tackle real-world challenges and benefit their communities. By working on public art projects, they gained hands-on experience and practical skills to bring fresh ideas back to their cities.
This experience promoted artistic expression, cross-cultural understanding, and community engagement. The students returned home inspired and ready to apply what they learned, with new friendships, experiences, and ideas to shape a more connected and creative Asia.
