Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, CMU President, attended the press conference and gave a welcoming remark for the international conference titled ‘multi-stakeholder collaboration to strengthen sustainability and resilience of livestock systems in response to drivers of change at the 13th Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock (GASL) Multistakeholder Partnership Meeting and the Regional Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation’. Also in attendance were Ms. Shirley Tarawali, GASL Chair; Mr. Chaiya Phromma, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; Mr. Nirat Pongsitthavorn, Governor of Chiang Mai; Mr. Robert Simpson, Senior Advisor to the Assistant Director-General/Regional Representative, FAO Region of Asia Pacific (RAP); Mr. Sophat Chawankun, DVM, Deputy Director-General of the Livestock Development Department; and Dr. Thanawat Thiensin, DVM, Director of Animal Production and Health Division, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Rome. The objective was to study and exchange ideas on factors causing livestock system-related changes, factor correlations of the advancement and the scope of livestock sustainability, and areas of collaboration to induce resolutions and changes in livestock-related policies worldwide. The conference was held at the Centara Riverside Hotel, Chiang Mai on October 30, 2023.
